cf Beatrix Potter's Ginger and Pickles,( a cat and dog team) at a low point - caused largely by giving their mice customers etc overlong credit - in their corner shop's fortunes, and hungry:

I dunno why people in state teaching, like meself, are so predominantly and unthinkingly orthodox left, but it does seem to happen.But the mental gymnastics to avoid thinking of abortion as murder, let alone any consequences , are mighty.

I too was a state school teacher, in London 30 years ago, and one of the few non marxists.
