After nearly seven years in Poland, a kindly and learned correspondent has rightly pulled me up for grammatical mistakes in an earlier post. Disgrace! My only excuse is that I am self-taught through reading and conversation, and Poles are far too polite to correct me, so I go on, a blundering linguistic oaf.
So, back to grammar and syntax, and about time too!

No apologies needed! I needed to be jolted out of my smugness.
It would be great to meet, but I'm not sure I'm up to interpreting anything beyond basic conversation.
It's interesting that talking about art or music is much easier, because the vocabulary is less Slavonic.
