I kind of feel sorry for the Dalai Lama. Wherever he goes he is greeted by adoring fans of his vague "spirituality." He needs to meet some critics.
Patrick - Yes. I've been re-reading Kipling's "Kim", which contains an extended and loving portrait of a very different kind of Lama.
Incidentally, I do not understand how anyone can read "Kim" and continue to assert that its author was a "racist".
