Corpus Christi in a Catholic country: Poland

This is what Corpus Christi is like in a Catholic country. The whole town (population just over a thousand) is getting the centre ready for tomorrow's public procession. I hope to report tomorrow with more pictures.

A neighbour carries branches to the pavement where they are jammed between kerb and paving stones, as in the picture below

One can only imagine how a UK local council would react. Here in Poland, it is an official National Holiday, and the town will be closed to traffic by police, so processions can take place to the temporary public Altars set up in the street by local people.
