Sister Margaret Farley, whose work on sexual ethics drew a caution from the Vatican, told an audience in Michigan that she is encouraged by the leadership of Pope Francis.
“He seems teachable,” said Sister Farley, a retired Yale Divinity School professor. She said that she continues to espouse the positions that prompted the Vatican’s critical scrutiny—including support for ordination of women and for legal recognition of same-sex unions—because to do otherwise would “contradict one’s integrity.”

I suppose he's lucky that a Magisterium will be heading his way, now that the Magisterium owner has identified his potential teachability. What a pity earlier Popes could not benefit due to Sister's discernment of their lacking this quality.
But why should either the trials or favours sent to one Pope not be turned around for his successor?
Yeah.
Moreover this remark is obviously for nonteachers - when told this of a particular group about to come my way for the conversion of my soul, it has been my experience that it's a way of glozing over their aboveaverage rudeness , mulishness, etc.
Nor has it ever meant that, howsoever generally true, that I am the teacher who CAN teach them anything of what they should be taught.
Of course,as a teacher, you may be more saintly or sucessful or effective than me, and resonate differently to these fine words.
