We must stop the Left's subversion of the Church. Peace is good to strive for but when we have Muslim extremists trying to kill us one must be realistic and not naive about that whole being peaceful thing. I agree with "peace through strength" especially when Christians are targeted by violent extremists.

Look at this, which is about the Cristero revolt in Mexico in the 20s and 30s. The lyrics include a chorus which says "Long Live Christ the King, the Christ of War who sets fire to the land, Long Live Christ the King, our Sovereign Lord, our Captain and our Champion: to fight for Him is a complete honour". The old man at the start recalls the priest asking if they had balls for the fight! They answered that they had. This is a robust Catholic answer to anti-catholic masonic republicanism.

Perhaps in the same way as the Jansenism of St. John Vianney can be explained away.
Self defense is well established as a teaching of the Church is not going away no matter how much pacifists push their unnatural position. But using the saints in the manner you just have is a two bladed sword, which leaves you defenseless when it cut the wrong way.
You're far better off explaining how self defense is a natural duty.
