A digression on the sin of scandal, a sin condemned by Christ in the passage you reference:
I have tried to convince my parents to buy me a truck on the grounds that my coveting of a truck is a sin and that by not getting me a truck they are encouraging my sin and committing scandal. So far they have rejected this line of reasoning. ;)
