'Human rights' are a man-made construct. The Ten Commandments prescribe only duties and prohibitions. The Beatitudes pronounce blessings on the good. The Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy are duties. Human rights are not enshrined in Catholicism.


Only God has 'rights'.
