SYNCRETINISM (SIC)!

So Pope John-Paul II  is to be beatified. He was a great, good, and holy man, and I rejoice.

But what are we to make of the shenanigans at Assisi? Of a heathen statue on the altar? Of the later Koran-kissing, if true as reported?

Ecumenical? Charitable? Universalist? Ill-advised? Foolish? Syncretist?

Sometimes some people, including me, were frightened.
